Lombard Medical Centre is an accredited training practice, and for many years has been involved in the postgraduate training of fully qualified doctors who wish to pursue a career in General Practice. These GP registrars usually work in the practice for four months at a time as part of their specialist family doctor training, and their work is supervised by , Dr Brenchley, Dr Cusack, Dr Micklethwaite and Dr Goodwin. They often have particular expertise in another branch of medicine as well.
From time to time, our registrars will be videoing their consultations for training purposes. You will be asked if you wish your consultation to be recorded and have the right to decline.
In conjunction with Nottingham University Medical School, first, second and fifth year medical students visit the practice and may sit in with the doctors. If you do not wish a student to be present at your consultation please let the receptionist know when you check in and your wishes will be respected.
As well as assisting in the training of young doctors and nurses, we believe that this continuous involvement in medical education helps us to focus on the provision of high quality patient care.
